Run a node and start staking.

1

Get hardware.

Runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, Raspberry Pi, Orange Pi, NUC, VM, you name it.

Recommended hardware requirements:
  • 64-bit OS & processor
  • 8GB memory (+ 4GB swap)
  • 50GB storage
2

Get wallet.

Choose a wallet to receive your coins in.

Download a wallet
3

Start staking.

Deposit VRSC into your wallet, start staking and keep running 24/7. Get rewarded for each block you find.

  • 6No minimum VRSC required
  • No slashing
  • No lock-up. Funds are always available
4

Run Bridgekeeper

Optionally, but recommended for the network. Run Bridgekeeper and have the possibility to earn additional fees when you hit a block.

How-to run Bridgekeeper

Verus proof-of-work

Verus is 50% proof-of-work, 50% proof-of-stake. To participate in the proof-of-stake part you need to run a full node. A full node is having a complete copy of the blockchain on your device. It validates transactions and verifies blocks. With the proof-of-stake part you produce new blocks and get rewarded for it. Depending on how many coins you have staking, the larger or smaller chance you have to produce a block. You can compare it to solo-mining, you either win a full block or you win nothing..

Verus Proof of Power

Verus has a unique consensus mechanism called Verus Proof of Power (VerusPoP). It's hybrid 50/50% proof-of-power and proof-of-stake. In short: 50% of all blocks are validated by miners, and 50% by stakers. It is a provable solution to 51% hash attacks.Read the paper here.
